In This Together operates a Social Supermarket which offers tiered access to support through food provision and necessities of both donated and bought goods from Fareshare and other sources. Fundraising and grant applications take place to ensure supply of these items. ‘Clients’ or our service users may apply to register with us via tier 1 support
should they be in receipt of means tested benefits or are in severe/urgent financial difficulty. Tier 2 support offers access to those who are in receipt of non means tested benefits or in financial difficulty. Tier 3 offers wider access for those who are in financial difficulty or experiencing a need for support services. Each client is permitted access for a period of 12 weeks on a weekly basis. Week 1 to 3 offers food provision whereas week 4 offers food provision and hygiene essentials for £2 a week on Tier 1, £3.50 a week for Tier 2 and £5 a week for Tier 3. There is an automatic waiver of any fees should these be unaffordable for our clients to ensure access for anyone who needs it. Clients are encouraged to attend various workshops as and when they run such as support for employability, wellbeing, mindfulness, leisure activities and other support services to ensure our holistic approach to support is facilitated. While volunteers are training in benefit advice, Advice NI offer support via their helpline and we signpost to various other programmes where necessary until all training is complete.
