Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from the purpose of the organisation are increased unity, enhanced knowledge and understanding between different villages and community backgrounds, economic, rural and social development in the areas of benefit, improved quality of life and reduced social isolation. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback

from members and the numbers attending/ participating in the projects. The purposes of our Charity will not lead to any harm. The Charity’s beneficiaries are member groups from each of the villages on the Ards Peninsula as well as the residents and businesses on Ards Peninsula through participation in our activities or through our continued promotion of the area as a place to visit. A private benefit to Trustees may arise from our ongoing programme of support and training. Through these Trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to the continued management of our Charity and facility to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Ards Peninsula Villages Partnership provides opportunities for community associations in all the 9 villages across the Ards Peninsula to work in partnership to meet, share knowledge, skills and experiences and run projects that will benefit the residents living in the whole of the ‘area of benefit’. We do this through holding monthly meetings for

representatives of member community groups, meetings are held in a different village each time to create a sense of community cohesion across villages and to raise awareness of the range of facilities available in each area, however, in the past year these have all been via Zoom to comply with social distancing regulations. We also have sub groups who look at particular areas of interest aiming to run projects and apply for funding to cover our running costs and delivery of projects. We have developed a local flyer to promote the area to tourist, have run the Ards Peninsula Kite Festival, ran Photographic Competitions and worked with the Council to develop proposals for village entrance signage. And have set up a website and 2 facebook pages to encourage interaction between local villages and those from outside the area.
