Public benefits
That our members have the opportunity for increased social interaction, increased learning, self-care, awareness & peer support. Demonstrated through increased participation. We have been able to run classes, chat rooms & courses . Face to face and using online platforms to enable members to access classes or any help needed if they are unable to
attend in person. We connect with our carers, tailoring our support to their needs. We always make decisions with the best interest of the group in mind. Our member group consists of children, adults and older individuals with an additional needs and their carers. We provide information to other individuals or organisations who promote the wellbeing of those with additional needs or have a direct interest. We have a real sense of community and like to be inclusive to everyone as we want all members to feel important and valued.

We recruit individual, parents and carers of children & adults with additional needs to become members of the group. We support parents to access welfare rights and information and signpost them to advice services and relevant agencies. We assist in carrying out research, surveys, investigation and focus groups in order to help with provision of
services. We organise a broad range of meetings, lectures, classes & activities deemed to be of benefit all. By obtaining grants it allows us to provide the much needed support for our members. We aim to recruit and train volunteers, particularly those with an additional need to offer them the skills and practical experience to further their working career & and increase sense of accomplishment. We try where possible to use the skill base from our members, as we recognise the pool of talent within our group. We understand that as carers there are not often opportunities provided to suit around their caring responsibilities. We offer peer support, and opportunities for interaction. We recognise that having an additional need and being a carer can be isolating, so aim to provide many opportunities for interaction, be it online, or in person. We advocate for and aim to increase capacity for self advocation for individuals with an additional need, and carers. We link in DADS, Empower and with other groups in order to reach and support as many individuals, and families as possible. We sit on local council and Education authority focus groups.
