Public benefits

The direct benefits that flow from purpose a) include: Increased self-confidence and employability for those completing accredited courses; for young people involved in youth leadership and activity courses. Those attending language, art and crafts courses and workshops benefit from enjoyment and participation and learning new skills. The Community

benefits from an increase in community capacity. The benefits that flow from purpose b) include; an increase in self-confidence, well-being and mental health of participants, and a greater degree of social contact for more isolated older and disabled/special needs community The direct benefits that flow from purpose c) include: the availability of a neutral venue welcoming everyone in the community, enabling people from different traditions and backgrounds, who might normally not meet or engage with one another, to come together in shared activities, forming new friendships and developing a greater degree of community cohesion. The formation of close partnerships and shared activities with other local community groups has encouraged greater community understanding and respect, co-operation and sharing of resources that benefits all involved. The direct benefits that flow from purpose d) include; the development of a culture of respect and tolerance amongst participants and groups and engage in shared activities. Disabled /special needs users benefit from a welcoming venue, that promotes inclusivity and responds to individual needs. Participants, whose first language may not be English benefit from improved communications skills. The benefits that flow from purpose a) are evidenced by participation levels, course achievements, positive feedback from tutors, participants, families and reviews on social media. The benefits that flow from purpose b) are evidenced by positive feedback from users, families, from older people who use the online courses and by positive social media feedback such as likes and page views and by an increase in attendance at events. Purpose a) There is a slight risk of harm from engaging in crafts activities – this is mitigated through participant induction in safe working practises and by supervision during activities. There is are slight risks of safeguarding issues relating to children and vulnerable adults – these are mitigated by staff and volunteer registration with AccessNI, by safeguarding training for everyone involved and by the presence of a safeguarding officer on the premises during activities. First aid facilities are available as are trained first aiders should any accident or injury occur. What your organisation does

a - The advancement of Education: In partnership with Southern Regional College providing accredited and recreational courses in IT and Gardening. In-house and online classes in conversational French, Spanish and English for non-English speakers. b - The advancement of health or the saving of lives Weekly classes in Speech and Drama, Yoga, Pilates,

Relax Kids, Baby Massage, Courses are provided and along with Gardening, Sewing, Adult Art (Oil and Watercolour), Kids Craft Classes as well as workshops in Siler-smithing and Copper-smithing. These greatly contribute to well-being, Physical and mental health of users. c - The advancement of citizenship or community development MCH Ltd is a cross-community organisation that provides a neutral, welcoming venue to everyone. Education authority Youth Services deliver free youth mentoring and leadership courses from our facilities. The drop-in Honesty Café and Cozy room provide a relaxing environment for everyone to enjoy. Partnerships with other local community groups ensures a continual mix of community interest and participation. d - the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity MCH Ltd is a cross-community initiative working to encourage anti-sectarian behaviours, to promote religious harmony and encourage good community relations. MCH Ltd is open to everyone on the basis of respect and equality. Participation at Committee, Volunteer and user level is positively encouraged and welcomes irrespective of Religious, Political, Disability/Special needs or Sexual orientation and every effort is made to promote accessibility to all facilities and activities.
