Public benefits
The main direct benefit is that the children attending the preschool will have the necessary educational and social skills and experiences to be ready for the start of compulsory education. An additional benefit is that through effective home / preschool partnership, parents and carers will be better equipped to stimulate young children and
broaden their learning experiences. These benefits can be demonstrated through the preschool's action planning, monitoring, evaluating and review process. Staff appraisals, leader's reports, parental surveys and pupil transition reports for the primary schools also provide evidence of how the benefits are demonstrated. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charities beneficiaries are young children aged 2 years 10 months - compulsory school age who live in the village of Portaferry, the surrounding rural areas and neighbouring villages. Parents and carers are also beneficiaries as they are in receipt of an important and necessary service. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose.
