Public benefits
The directors believe that both our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. The direct benefit flowing from purpose one is that members of the public have been able to appreciate numerous and varied cultural activities provided by Amadan Ensemble as a means to enhance their family life, enrich their social interactions
and experience diverse theatrical performance practices. The direct benefits flowing from purpose two include: • Regular and high-quality training opportunities in Northern Ireland for arts practitioners to develop skills and enhance career development. • Regular opportunities for members of the public to access specialist theatre training to enhance confidence, resilience, problem solving and creative thinking. • The development of innovative theatrical presentations and approaches will enhance the Northern Irish arts sector and lead to a more diverse creative expression of Northern Irish culture. • The public are able to enjoy and experience thought-provoking performance within a fun and secure environment in order to interrogate commonly held opinions or understanding. • Theatrical performances created for children and their families/care-givers enable the children to experience risk-taking within a safe and playful space. • Amadan Ensemble routinely make their resources available to encourage and develop emerging artists, as well as giving them a space to perform their work to the public. The benefits of purpose one are evidenced through the growing audience available for Amadan Ensemble productions and the growing visibility of the organisation in the Northern Irish cultural scene. Benefits have been evidenced in the increased number of collaborations undertaken by Amadan Ensemble with established arts organisations within Northern Ireland. The benefits of purpose two are evidenced through increased demand for training opportunities with Amadan Ensemble from arts practitioners and members of the public. Benefits have been evidenced in written and verbal feedback from arts practitioners and members of the public and has been collated in Amadan Ensemble’s records. The benefits of both purposes will be further evidenced in the regularly reviewed development plans. The directors believe there is no harm to anyone arising from any of these purposes.
