Public benefits
The public benefits are the increased efficiency and effectiveness of community and voluntary organisations, resulting in enhanced outcomes and service delivery and, consequently, an improved quality of life for those who benefit from the work of those organisations. Increased opportunities to engage in social activities that bring people together,
leading to greater social cohesion and improvements in health and fitness, wellbeing and fulfilment. A greater sense among the beneficiaries of more fulfilled and purposeful lives, resulting in a safer, more stable and cohesive community. A reduction in tension and conflict between people from different religious, political, racial, ethnic or other backgrounds and a reduction in social isolation. Enhanced educational attainment, transferable skills, capabilities and capacities. Improved potential to secure employment. These benefits can be evidenced in monitoring records by the charity; records kept by various agencies of the numbers of jobs and work experience opportunities created and the number of those who have successfully completed training courses; internal and external evaluations of the activities and impact of the Charity and the organisation it assists; the finding of community surveys on health and fitness wellbeing and social isolation and attitudes toward social cohesion; feedback from the participants and the users of the Charities services. No harm arises from any of these purposes The beneficiaries are members of the public residing in the area of benefit and community and voluntary organisations that provide and assistance to them. Some staff and volunteers of the community and voluntary organisations may receive a modest private benefit as a result of any vocational training they receive, but this is both incidental and necessary.
