The direct benefits flowing from the advancement of the arts include the production of theatre and performance art in a variety of mediums, including musical theatre, acting, pantomime and singing. The direct benefits flowing from the advancement of education include providing classes and activities for young people and adults to learn and develop
performance skills in branches of performance art. The direct benefits flowing from the advancement of citizenship and community development include giving members of the community opportunities to play an active role in their community by volunteering in activities that include working with children, vulnerable adults and other voluntary works within the arts such as performances. The direct benefits flowing from the advancement of equality and diversity are the open and welcoming space we provide for all members of the community and the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, race, political opinion or disability. The benefits from the advancement of the arts can be demonstrated by the variety of productions we stage throughout the year, and the opportunities created for members and members of the public to take part or come along and enjoy the theatre. The benefits from the advancement of education can be demonstrated through the classes and workshops we run both for children and young people with our weekly Kid's Drama and Youth Theatre classes, as well as the accredited training opportunities we provide for our adult members. The benefits from the advancement of citizenship and community development can be demonstrated by the opportunities we provide for members of the community to become active volunteers working with children and young people, vulnerable people and in theatre productions. The benefits from the advancement of equality and diversity can be demonstrated through the inclusiveness of our work, providing a welcoming environment for everyone regardless of their background. Throughout the year we stage a musical, a junior musical for children and young people aged 6-18, a play, a concert (involving all our adults, young people and children) and our pantomime which includes a wide variety of adult members as well as our Youth Theatre (aged 11-16). We also run children's drama classes ran by volunteers, a summer scheme,
craft fairs, training, social evenings and fundraising activities such as quizzes and sponsored events. As well as working on a cross community basis, with people of all ages, from all backgrounds and ethnic minorities we also work with members from the LGBTQ+ community in the area. We run specific LGBTQ+ projects in our community with the main target of tackling social isolation and improving community integration.
