include: • Wider participation in learning for adults of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. • Local delivery of educational resources across the community • Fuller understanding of the importance and delivery of spiritual education Purpose 3 - The advancement of citizenship or community development - include: • Deeper integration of marginalised individuals, families and groups into society • Building capacity of local churches and faith groups to engage with people with intellectual disabilities and to strengthen the community Purpose 4 - The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity – include: • Broader understandings of human dignity and human rights • Deeper appreciation of human diversity and equality • Purpose 5 - The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill- health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages -include: • Alleviating distress for people with intellectual disabilities who feel isolated or unable to cope • Greater support for families and carers of people with intellectual disabilities Purpose 1 • Courses and training events – numbers attending, evaluations from attendees • Evidence of ongoing interest in Tio’s services – eg. email, phone,web usage Purpose 2 • Courses and classes – numbers registered • Number/location of local communities visited • Contribution to the ongoing personal development of professionals working in disability contexts • Number of requests for information on future events • Publications Purpose 3 • Follow-up after some months to obtain feedback from churches who have hosted Tiō courses • Building confidence among people with intellectual disabilities & others in church communities Purpose 4 • Responses to wider public debate in the media & at events relating to intellectual disabilities • Presentation of papers or other formats at national and international conferences Purpose 5 • Number of support groups for parents, siblings and carers • Follow-up after some months to obtain feedback from churches who have hosted Tiō courses We do not anticipate that any harm will flow from any of the above purposes The Charity’s beneficiaries are people with intellectual disabilities, their families, carers and local communities Private benefit may also apply as some family members of Trustees attend regular programmes run by Tio. These family members have an Intellectual Disability and avail of these services at no cost. Yes, we believe these are incidental and are necessary to fulfil the organisation’s purposes.

Charitable purposes

2.1 The Trust is established for charitable purposes only, specifically: The advancement of religion (specifically the Christian Faith), The advancement of education The advancement of citizenship or community development The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill- health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage 2.2 Such purposes must be carried out exclusively in a manner that is beneficial to the public and is recognised by the law of Northern Ireland as being charitable. 2.3 The Trust shall participate only in initiatives that are reasonably conducive to the realisation of the above mentioned purpose, such initiatives including (but not limited to: (i) The communication of Christian perspectives on disability with a focus on intellectual disability (ii) Raising awareness, teaching, training and advocacy
