The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include people learning new skills and being educated in issues crucial to them to enable them to live happier and funfilled lives; Older people being able to live healthier, happier lives through the provision of health related programmes and reducing social isolation and loneliness and

increasing mental stimulation. These benefits are evidenced through verbal feedback from attendees at our events; the numbers of members taking part in classes and programmes provided in a local venue. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The benefit is for older people living in the Carrickmore area. There is no private benefit.

What your organisation does

Carrickmore Thursday Afternoon Club meets weekly and provides a safe, neutral venue for older people from across the district to meet. The Club runs a series of difference activities and programmes throughout the year, encouraging local involvement and engaging local older people.

Charitable purposes

The Purposes of the Charity Are: The Club is established for the advancement of education of older people aged 60 or over in Carrickmore and its environs (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') The Club is established for the protection of health of older people aged 60+ in the area of benefit and in particular: Provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for older people Raise awareness among the general public of the needs and experiences of older people in the area of benefit
