Public benefits

The Public Benefit arising from the purposes of Ballymacash Regeneration Network is improved health and wellbeing, improved access to services and improved capacity for social action for people through tackling social, economic and environmental community that benefits from addressing challenges that impact upon people’s quality of life. These

benefits can be demonstrated by Ballymacash Regeneration Network staff and volunteers collecting information from people within community and service providers who will monitor and evaluate changes in lives and community action through surveys, case studies and documentary evaluations including videos. This information will be presented at the Annual General Meeting, Lisburn Castlereagh City Council’s Community Support Grant Evaluation and social media platforms. Governments NINIS statistics measure areas of deprivation which forms evidence for investment to benefit the purposes of the Network. In terms of harm, Ballymacash Regeneration Network completes an annual Risk Assessment of delivery of its activities. This includes reviewing policies and procedures to ensure any harm is mitigated by implementation of robust policies and procedures that staff and volunteers have been trained in. The core policies include Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities which Lisburn Castlereagh City Council provide support to develop. The beneficiaries of Ballymacash Regeneration Network are residents living within target areas who face deprivation as a result of lack of opportunities and investment in community. Those groups most at risk and targeted include children and young people, women and older people. There is no private benefit from the purposes of Ballymacash Regeneration Network. There is a Community Centre within the target area owned by Lisburn Castlereagh City Council, leased to the group to deliver their activities. Two staff are employed through a Lisburn Castlereagh City Council grant as part of this ‘satellite centre’ contract to deliver the purposes of Ballymacash Regeneration Network.
