Public benefits

Purpose 1: The advancement of citizenship or community development The benefits flowing from this purpose include improved social cohesion and sense of community at a local level as those who are homeless are integrated into their local community through the provision of housing and the number of individuals living on the streets within particular

communities is reduced. Purpose 2: The relief of poverty The benefits flowing from this purpose include the relief of poverty through the provision of shelter and housing to those living in poverty within the Belfast area. Purpose 3: The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage The benefits flowing from this purpose include a relief of the stress and burden of the situations facing those who are homeless through the provision of housing and employment. Also an improvement in the health, well-being and general circumstances of those within the homeless community by developing a sense of purpose through offering them paid work whilst also offering them practical support to help rebuild their lives. This will have a wider, indirect benefit as it will reduce the burden faced by existing facilities which offer similar services and which are under pressure. Also the creation of a stable environment where those who are homeless and, in particular, ex-prison offenders, can work and experience a sense of community which, in turn, aims to reduce the likelihood of reoffending. This will have a wider, indirect benefit in reducing the burden faced by a highly strained prison service. The benefits that flow from the charity’s purposes will be demonstrated by collecting feedback from beneficiaries. In addition, the charity will hold statistics detailing the number of individuals employed, assisted and re-housed as a result of its activities. We do not anticipate that any harm will flow from any of the above purposes The charity's beneficiaries are the homeless community including the Hidden Homeless who reside in emergency shelters and hostels and other homeless charities who we partner with across the UK. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the charity's purposes.

What your organisation does

The Trust shall participate only in initiatives that are reasonably conducive to the realisation of the above mentioned purposes, such initiatives including (but not limited to): - Relieving poverty both short term and long term, through providing practical materials, offering pastoral care and developing safe homes and communities. - Supporting

people who are homeless or who are deemed outcasts in their Community, helping them to understand the value they hold and to achieve a meaningful place in their community. - Positively influencing public opinion to ensure homelessness is viewed as unacceptable We aim to re-educate, re-employ & re-home. We will manufacture corporate work wear. Our staff will be made up of trained professionals who train & upskill members of the homeless community in all areas of the business - manufacturing, controlling inventory, sales, admin & customer service. The proceeds of the sales will be used in part to pay for addiction counselling for Mental Health issues, drug & alcohol addiction for those in the homeless community. The remainder of the proceeds will allow OI Giving to manufacture single dwelling “tiny homes”. Again the team will be made up of trained professionals who will train & upskill members of the homeless community in all areas of the business - manufacturing, plumbing, electrical work, joinery & finishing. We intend to allow our staff from the homeless community to live in these “Tiny Homes” in a staged & managed process to give back the users independence & to integrate them back into society. We will have ongoing support for areas such as managing utility bills & transitioning into more permanent fixed accommodation if they wish. We also re-educate the public about all aspects in relation to homelessness. We specifically want to educate those in higher education & leaving armed forces to highlight what is expected in civilian life ie how to budget, rates of pay within employment vs cost of living etc
