Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of St Thomas CSI Church includes: 1. Providing support for its members in the local community in Northern Ireland; our members are prominently from Indian Ethnic minority groups settled in NI. In terms of support, we make known the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the advancement of religion,

thereby enhancing the ecumenical relationship with the local community and churches in Northern Ireland, UK and India. 2. Gaining an understanding in Christian beliefs as set out in the Bible and in the Church of South India order of worship leading to spiritual and moral development and opportunities. 3. In turn, this framework leads to practical expressions of Christian beliefs and standards in the local community such as through the care of those in need including the sick, disabled and bereaved. 4. Countless secular and Christian charities have been supported and aided by members of St Thomas CSI Church. The benefits identified can be demonstrated by the continuous attendance of our members whom have provided good feedback, stating that they have gained help and support through the St Thomas CSI Church. The church have also supported many secular and Christian charities whom have appreciated our aid of financial gifts or volunteering. The purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries are the members of the St Thomas CSI Church, other individuals whom are in direct and indirect contact with the church, members of the community whom are provided pastoral services by the church and benefit from our engagement and support by attending our services and public meetings, and also other charity organisations. The only private benefit flowing from our purpose is related to the vicars who receive benefits as a result of their holding office or employment. However, this is incidental and necessary in order to further our charitable purpose. There are no other private benefits.

What your organisation does

1) St Thomas CSI church provides members a safe space to build and practise their faith by engaging in evangelical and missionary church activities 2) Members of the St Thomas CSI Church living in Northern Ireland are meeting at least once a month for Church Service. During this gathering all members worship and serve by following the Church of

South India order of service. 3) We also hold other religious activities during every month. These activities are open to people of all ages and it is not necessary to be members of the Church. Through monthly prayer meetings, we support our members, our own churches, the community and leaders in society and government. We organise and host meetings and events that promote our charitable purpose. This allows us to support secular and Christian organisations and charities through volunteering, financial gifts and prayer.
