Public benefits
The Trustees of All About Us – ASD Teens feel it meets the public benefit requirement as it promotes equality regardless of gender, disability or financial hardship. This is achieved by providing free/low cost regular meet-up sessions and courses introducing coping mechanisms and providing a support network enabling young people and their families
to feel included. We welcome both those with a diagnosis and those going through the diagnosis process for autism and associated conditions in Antrim and the wider area. We regularly hold all-inclusive events open to the public which has a direct impact on increasing understanding, improving mental health, self-confidence, self-worth, social skills, inclusion and confidence for our members. We provide access for people who feel isolated to enjoy and be included in activities, sports, learning new skills, increasing independence and help with giving the opertunity for making friendships. The benefits have been noted by members, their families and the wider community through their feedback both verbally and in various surveys we have carried out. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The direct beneficiaries from the charity are young people aged 8-18 with a diagnosis or going through the diagnosis process of autism and associated conditions and their families or carers by meeting people in similar situations, this promotes equality, improves wellbeing, promotes social inclusion in the community and improves mental health for these individuals and their wider family circle. A private benefit for the charity may come from the training sessions the volunteers attend, these benefits are necessary to carry out the purposes of the charity.

All About Us – ASD Teens is a voluntary organisation based in Antrim and ran by volunteers who are either parents of young people who are diagnosed with autism, or have autism themselves. The aim of our charity for each individual is to promote inclusion, increase skills and coping mechanisms which will aid integration into society to enjoy and
participate in the activities and opportunities which everyone is entitled to. We provide support, courses and recreational activities for young people and their families both those with a diagnosis and those going through the diagnosis process for autism and associated conditions, we will achieve this by raising funds, receiving grants, collect donations and holding all-inclusive fundraisers, we will then apply these funds to carry out the work of the charity to the benefit the group promoting inclusion, raising awareness and providing new skills. We will cooperate with and support other charities with similar charitable purposes.
