We deliver a programme of activities for local people to continue in our aim to make Glenburn a good place to live. We have worked hard in recent years to get things done in our estate and to provide opportunities for residents to come together. We take the older and vulnerable residents out for Christmas dinner, developed 2 community gardens,
provide family outings for local residents, and provision of local community events summer and Christmas. We have a number of young families on low income, and a significant number of foreign national families and also quite a high number of older vulnerable people who live in Glenburn. Many of our older residents may only see family maybe once a week, therefore the work we have carried out in the past helps to make them feel secure in their homes as friendships and trust has built up. Quite a number of local residents have attended different courses such as digital inclusion, child protection and first aid training. Such courses have helped local people to become more familiar with the computerised world and have fostered a desire to continue to learn among some. We have also worked with agencies such as PSNI and Council to make our area a no cold calling zone which gives reassurance to older people. We have also seen a reduction in anti-social behaviour in the area due to our close links with the local Police. Our purposes do not give rise to any harm. Our beneficiaries are the residents of Glenburn estate. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our trustees developing skills and experiences through organising and attending the training or events which may then be useful other settings. Such benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure benefits are delivered to beneficiaries.
