Public benefits

The benefits flowing from the purposes of Ballyronan Community Playgroup are that pre-school children from Ballyronan and district can be looked after in a safe stimulating and learning environment supervised by suitably qualified play leaders. The children benefit from having such facility close to their homes, they benefit the access they have

to both education and recreation and safe and secure facilities managed by local people for local children. The community benefits because the management is run by volunteers meaning that cost can be kept at a reasonable level for working and non-working parents. The benefits can be demonstrated by the number of children attending the facility. It can be measured by the responses given by both children and parents at regular consultation/feedback sessions. There is no harm flowing from these purposes. The charity beneficiaries are the children from Ballyronan and district from statutory school age, their parents and extended families. Salaries are paid to playgroup staff without whom the Project could not exist.

childcare providers supervised by the Early Years organisation. The facility and equipment are provided and maintained by the group subject to the specifications of Social Services. The group is managed by a committee of volunteers to ensure that there is adequate insurance, a pool of properly trained volunteers and a range of fundraising activities to help finance the day to day running of the project.
