Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased self-awareness including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions; development of positive mature and meaningful relationships; a greater understanding and respect of different communities; participation in the outcomes within their own communities and a
reduction in isolation felt among "at-risk" youths. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants, instructors and community welfare professionals, with regular evaluation of services from independent sources. While providing resources and services to our beneficiaries, we must be aware of unattended consequences resulting from our activities and to ensure that the benefit outweighs the harm. The charity's beneficiaries are young people aged 11 to 25 throughout Derry City and its surrounding environs in the North West of Ireland. A private benefit may arise to those trustees who participate in the programmes offered by PlaySchule. In doing so, the trustee may gain skills and experience which are transferrable to other activities not directly related to the objectives and purposes of PlaySchule. While these benefits may arise, they do so in the same way that any other of our beneficiaries receive a benefit. As a result, these benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

PlaySchule promotes activities aimed at boosting social skills among young people throughout Derry City and it's surrounding environments. This is accomplished through several core programmes which include: personal development programme, team building activities, health and well-being programmes, overnight residentials and volunteering
opportunities. These programmes are designed to help young people identify goals; to actively participate within their community; influence those around them in a positive way; all while encouraging an understanding and respect for other communities.
