Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose is an increase in educational outcomes, improved social welfare outcomes and relief of poverty. This purpose will also provide improvements in overall community life. The above benefits will be evidenced through a number of evaluative means including recordings and observations of staff members

other qualitative data from parents, teachers and community representatives as well as data from service users.Quantitative data from other sources including service providers both statutory and non statutory. There is no identifiable harm to any person through pursuit of of the above organisational purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the inhabitants of the Marrowbone area of North Belfast and it's environs as listed in our governing document. A private benefit is that gained by a volunteer, staff member or board member who has a child who makes use of the facilities and activities of the Association. The child applies to be part of the Association and is given access in the same way as other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Staff may gain opportunities to be involved in educational or recreational activities. This benefit is also incidental and necessary for the work of the organisation to take place. Strict adherence to the Association's policies and procedures will amnage any possible conflict of interest that may arise.

What your organisation does

Marrowbone Community Association is dedicated to tackling long term problems and is committed to community development within the area.. Furthermore MCA works in conjunction with statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social

welfare, for health, recreation and leisure time occupation.The organisation work tirelessly to promote cooperation between local community groups to improve generic life experiences along with continually promoting and coordinating community development through attempting to enhance local social infrastructure via support training and resource provision. MCA have acquired a extensive former parochial hall and are in the process of renovating the building for use as a community hub. This hub will offer a youth club, boxing club, dance studio, men's shed, childcare, after schools club , offices, multi purpose hall, conference suites,as well as education, health and well being, arts, interventions and senior citizens programmes. Phase one is ready for completion in November 2018 with work beginning on phase two in January 2019.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Marrowbone area of North Belfast and its environs (the “area of benefit”), without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion, in all or any of the following ways:- (1) Promote community development in the area (2) Advance education and training for the public benefit by: (3) Relieve those in need by reason of age, disability, ill-health, financial or other disadvantage by providing support, information and advice on benefits, housing and homelessness, health and wellbeing, employment and training, financial management and debt, and facilitating access to other support/service providers.
