Purpose 6: The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are the heightened knowledge of gender equality and human rights as well as increased, confidence and independence of victims and the increased knowledge within the wider community. The benefits identified can be demonstrated as follows: Purpose 1: Numbers of women and children residing in refuge. Purpose 2: Numbers of services delivered in the community and corresponding numbers of women and children who receive support through these. Purpose 3: Numbers of referrals received (self and from external agencies) uptake of services and all signposting and direct referrals to external agencies. Purpose 4 : Numbers of training and awareness sessions delivered. Purpose 5 : Numbers of training and awareness sessions delivered, numbers of service users accessing training and evaluations of same. Purpose 6 : Numbers of women and children accessing services, numbers of women supported to access civil and criminal justice system. There is no harm flowing from any of the purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are Women, Children and Young People who have or are experiencing domestic or sexual violence.

The organisation carries out its purposes by: 1) Providing safe temporary accommodation for women and their children, young people and vulnerable adult dependents who are, or have been, experiencing domestic, sexual or gender based violence or abuse. 2) Providing and/or promoting a range of support services such as information, advice centres,

confidential services, counselling, outreach, court support, training and advocacy. 3) Providing information, support and advice for those affected by domestic, sexual or gender based violence or abuse and referral to relevant support agencies. 4) Promoting the prevention and the protection of those in need and those affected by violence against women and girls, including trafficking and exploitation. 5) Promoting through education, the prevention of domestic, sexual and gender based violence and abuse and the protection of those affected. 6) Educating, advocating, promoting and supporting women’s and children’s human rights and gender equality both locally and regionally.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are to:- (1) Relieve distress and suffering by the provision of safe temporary accommodation for women and their children, young people and vulnerable adult dependents who are, or have been, experiencing domestic, sexual or gender based violence or abuse. (2) Relieve distress and suffering experienced by women and their children, young people and vulnerable adult dependents by providing and/or promoting a range of support services such as information, advice centres, confidential services, counselling, outreach, court support, training and advocacy. (3) Relieve those in need by the provision of information, support and advice for those affected by domestic, sexual or gender based violence or abuse and referral to relevant support agencies. (4) Advance education on violence against women and girls, including trafficking and exploitation, and its effects, and to relieve those in need by promoting its prevention and the protection of those affected. (5) Advance education on domestic, sexual and gender based violence and abuse and their effects, and to advocate for and to relieve those in need by promoting their prevention and the protection of those affected. (6) Advance women’s and children’s human rights and gender equality to relieve the suffering and distress caused by violence emanating from the violation, impairment or nullification of enjoyment of their human rights and fundamental freedoms.
