ensures social inclusion of people with disabilities and increases access to the arts. The benefits are evidenced through the development and growth in confidence of our individual members who have completed their second year with us, the increase in membership as the profiling of the group has grown, the 320 seat Arts Theatre sold out show for the second year in a row, the following on our facebook page, the local promotion and discussion via the press, the feedback from audiences, participants, colleges and wider community. The possibility of harm exists around physical injury for example whilst participants engage in dance however this is outweighed by the benefit and mitigated by our policies and procedures in place to address such risk, these include safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessments and code of conduct for staff, volunteers and members. The charities beneficiaries are adults with disabilities in the Fermanagh district. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose of the organisation.

What your organisation does

Fermanagh BrightStarz delivers a professional programme of activities for adults with learning and physical disabilities who no longer have access to the social connection of education centres and who may face social isolation or exclusion from the arts and leisure activities in the Fermanagh area. The programme involves arts and leisure activities

including, dance, drama and singing. The programme offers participants the opportunity to gain new found confidence, hone their talents and skills, address social isolation and culminates in the full integration of adults with disabilities in local arts venues where the participants are not just in the audience but on the stage in professional performance where our performers are trained, respected and feature on our stage. The programme inspires, challenges and informs both audiences and participants and celebrates the creative energy of adults with disabilities in Fermanagh. The programme works to empower our participants and to develop confidence in speaking up and speaking out. By working with our there is a learning experience for the volunteers in working with and getting to know people with disabilities. We engage a professional arts director to work with the group and hire an appropriate venue in Enniskillen for 38 weeks each year for workshops and rehearsals. We engage local volunteers with an interest in the arts to work with the director and also work with the local volunteers from the area to build integration and awareness. We are fortunate in having volunteers who work within the professional arts arena in Northern Ireland working with us. We work with the local arts theatre to hire the theatre and deliver the show. We fund the programme through a small weekly membership fee and, fundraising. We are based in Enniskillen and cover the wider Fermanagh area.
