Public benefits

The direct benefit that flows from our organisation's purpose of the 'advancement of citizenship or community development' is that of the improved community life resulting from a facility being maintained so it can be used by the community. The direct benefit that flows from the 'prevention or relief of poverty' purpose is the relief of the poor

through the provision of grants and meals. The 'advancement of education' will have a direct benefit that flows from purpose through the enhanced knowledge and understanding of the community of Cloughmills and the wider area. The direct benefit that flows from' the relief of those in need' purpose will be the greater variety of activities and facilities that are accessible at a local level so enhancing the lifestyle of those outlined. The benefits can be demonstrated in the extensive use of the hall by many members of the community both individually and collectively. Events run by the Association are well attended and positive feedback is ongoing. All events and benefits are reported on an annual basis to the trustees and ongoing records are kept up to date in an annual report to same. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes The general public residing in the Cloughmills area including children, youth, adults, men, women, unemployed, low income, voluntary community sector and volunteers. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

The organisation carries out it's purpose in a variety of ways. These include but are not limited to the following: Providing assistance in the application for and administration of funding programmes for the voluntary sector when awarded; Running monthly lunches and other social events for senior citizens and others in the greater Cloughmills

area; Providing a facility for various groups to use for meetings and events; Running an annual pantomime and other activities to encourage and promote the development of volunteers and for the social benefit of the greater community of Cloughmills; Maintaining the premises known as Cloughmills Community Centre.

Charitable purposes

The association is established to relieve poverty, youth and the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Cloughmills area without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular to maintain and manage a centre in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the association.
