Public benefits
Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and
attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. Purpose 1 is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. Purpose 2 is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. No harm arises from either purpose. The benefit is for children at Carryduff Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

OUR ORGANISATION IS MADE UP OF A GROUP OF ELECTED PARENTS/CARERS AND STAFF. AS A GROUP WE STRIVE TO ENSURE THAT ALL PARENTS AND STAFF ARE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN OUR OPERATION. WE DO THIS BY SEEKING REGULAR FEEDBACK ON EVENTS AND OPERATION, LOOKING FOR PARENTAL / STAFF SKILLS TO AID RUN CLUBS AND HELP AT EVENTS. WE BELIEVE THAT GOOD COMMUNICATION IS
KEY AND THAT IS WHY WE PUBLISH REGULAR NEWS LETTERS AND KEEP PARENTS UPDATED. WE RUN A PROGRAMME OF EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR, WHICH ARE AVAILABLE TO PUPILS, THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND THE WIDER COMMMUNITY. ALONGSIDE THE SCHOOL WE AGREE THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS IN THAT THEY WILL ALWAYS BE USED TO PURCHASE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES OR EQUIPMENT FOR ALL THE PUPILS IN THE SCHOOL. IN RECENT YEARS WE HAVE PROVIDED IPADS AND TRANSFORMED AN AREA OF THE PLAYGROUND INTO AN ALL WEATHER CHATTING ZONE.
