Public benefits

Core Issues Trust (CIT) exists for the advancement of education, consistent with the CIT Statement of Belief, for the purpose of empowering individuals and churches to make, and to promote, lifestyle-choices consistent with Christian living In working educatively, rather than to indoctrinate its values, the charity encourages the interrogation of

ideology, both religious and secular, through analysis and critique of diverse perspectives and readings of the literature relating to human sexuality and Christian living. In so doing, it fosters cross- and inter-cultural competence. Recipients of the charity's outputs have the potential to develop high-order cognitive skills such as inter-disciplinary models of inquiry and understanding. These in turn empower individuals and groups to discern the dangers of view-point discrimination. These are fundamental benefits essential for any democratic society These benefits are evidenced in the personal accounts (anecdotal evidence in writing or on film) of men and women, or those representing groups such as churches who find improved living and perspective adjustment in the context of aggressive secularism opposed to an orthodox Christian (or other mainstream religious) understandings of human sexuality. Unsolicited and solicited feedback will be reported annually along with engagement statistics. With state support of aggressive secularism in the UK increasing, there may be a high level of intolerance from those insisting on the right not to be offended. For example, viewpoints unable to support the right of individuals to reduce or end unwanted homosexual behaviours or to express in support of doing so, may offend some groups. Claims that initiatives supporting individuals choosing to leave homosexual practices for example, are always harmful, will be made. Diversity of view-point and tolerance is the bedrock of any democratic country. The right to hold to orthodox values including those relating to human sexuality is enshrined in the Equality Act (2010). The protection of those with values supporting values sacred to them outweighs the offence this will cause those some who oppose this. Core Issues Trust also exists for the advancement of the Christian Faith, consistent with the CIT Statement of Belief, by equipping the church to lead others to trust and serve Jesus Christ in the church and in in the world. In advancing the Christian Faith, educatively, the charity promotes tolerance and is respectful of other faith (and no-faith) groups who share similar practices around the Judaic sexual ethic, such as that recognising only natural marriage as defined by the union of one man with one woman. It teaches those who engage with its resources, who are not persuaded by the claims of values-neutrality of secularism, to disagree respectfully, and to steadfastly hold to the faith as expressed in the authority of the scriptures, intelligently after reasoned consideration of evidence. The benefits of the work of the charity in promoting tolerance, dialogue, and debate are evident in the proportion of participants who hold no- or other-faith positions, as distinct from the Christian basis of the charity's Christian objectives. The charity also actively ministers to individuals who are active in practices believed to be contrary to the Christian values enshrined in the organisation. Feedback obtained from those participating in the charity's outputs will attest to this fact. Disagreeing with the radical politicisation of sexuality and the sexual political agenda designed to counter the Judeo-Christian foundations of western civilisation, have existed since the great persecutions of Roman times. The charity's position will be considered harmful by those promoting the values of radical secular humanism. Core Issues Trust promotes tolerance, and co-existence with and between groups holding conflicting view-points. It supports the freedoms of conscience and self-determination and LGBTI dignity.
