Public benefits

The trustees believe that the purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirementThe direct benefits which flow from this purpose include raising awareness of age appropriate play based learning among parents and carers and the provision of early education for children under statutory school age in Belfast. These benefits are

evidenced through feedback from parents, Early Years Advisors and regular evaluation of the service by Social services and the Education and Training Inspectorate. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of the purpose are children under statutory school age living in Belfast and its surrounding area. They also include parent and carers of children under statutory school age in Belfast and its surrounding area. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a trustee from our programme of on-going training in good governance, finance etc.; which are transferrable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

The purpose of our playgroup promote play base learning for all children under statutory school age in Belfast and its surrounding area. We follow the NI pre school Curriculum and we give children activities to develop the six areas of learning . Our ethos is to 'value every child' while working in partnership with parents in a safe, caring and

nurturing environment. We aim : To provide a safe and secure environment in which parents can feel confident leaving their child. To provide high quality pre school education and care for all the children in a warm, caring and stimulating atmosphere. To assist in the development of the child to achieve his/her full potential. To assist in the identification of each child’s individual needs. To give a high degree of individual attention to each child especially when emotional support is required. To have an inclusive approach towards children with special needs. The Playgroup believe that all children, parents and staff should be treated with courtesy and respect and that their views and wishes should be taken into consideration. The Playgroup believes that the parents are the first educators and aim to work in partnership at all times with them. The Playgroup believes in an open door policy allowing parents to approach the Playgroup with comments, suggestions or concerns.
