Public benefits

The purposes of Hope365 are to prevent or relieve poverty and relieve those who are in conditions of need, financial hardship or distress in Ethiopia and any part of the world in such ways as the trustees from time to time think fit, in particular, but not exclusively by: (a) providing housing, clothing, food, education, spiritual and emotional

support and other essential items to vulnerable children in need; (b) through the development of sustainable agricultural projects, which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs; (c) the provision of support and social activities to relieve the isolation of people in need. The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include the provision of shelter for homeless children that would otherwise maybe not survive into adulthood. The development of life skills for children to become productive members of society. The improvement of the children’s overall health, both physical and mental. Where trafficking has resulted in children being separated from their biological families and being homeless we seek to re-unite child and family. We also actively seek to place the homeless children with foster carers in their local community whenever this is possible. These benefits can be demonstrated by the review process that will be carried out annually by the Women’s and Children’s Affairs Committee in Shashemene. This is an Ethiopian government department and we work in liaison with them to ensure that we meet all the requirements of Ethiopian law. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are orphans and vulnerable children in Ethiopia who are currently homeless. However in time this may expand to other vulnerable children and their families. There are no private benefits flowing from the purpose.

What your organisation does

Hope365 is an organisation that seeks to reach out to street kids and other vulnerable children in Ethiopia. Our aim is to help the children at their point of need, regardless of ethnicity, faith or culture, and support them 365 days a year. Our work is motivated by the radical life and teachings of Jesus. We work with Ethiopians to develop

long-term self-sustainable projects which will benefit not only individual children, but also the communities in which they live. Our primary concern is to improve the lives of street children, either by re-uniting them with their families, or by providing them with a long-term, loving home environment in which they can grow and fulfill their potential. We want the children to have their childhood back now and we will provide for their educational, psychological, and spiritual development. In time we aim to equip each child to be a productive member of their society as he or she matures towards adulthood. At home we encourage the people of our Island to share a little of what we have (whether it's finance, possessions or time) and in return Hope365 will ensure everyone gets to see the difference the sharing has made to the lives of street kids in Ethiopia. We continually find that people are amazed at what can be achieved overseas, and social media provides a very cost-effective way of communicating that change.
