Public benefits

The Advancement of Education. We support organisations who provide education in countries where a large proportion of the population have no access to education because of a serious shortage of places within the state system due to the poverty within the country. The Foundation currently supports charities working to provide education in areas of

Africa, Eastern Europe and India. The work of these charities benefits directly all the children and young people living in the catchment area of the schools supported. This benefit will be evidenced by a reduction in poverty, with beneficiaries ultimately equipped to enter into employment. The Advancement of Religion, specifically the Christian Faith. We provide funding to Christian churches in Northern Ireland. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are that individuals attending church lead a more fulfilled and purposeful life, and experience an improved sense of wellbeing as they enjoy regular fellowship with others and receiving teaching from the Bible. Attending Christian worship and events also encourages individual beneficiaries to adopt a moral framework where they are good citizens. The Relief of Sickness and advancement of health. We provide funding to promote and preserve good health and to support the provision of healthcare services to those deprived of such provision by their economic circumstances. The benefit which flows from this purpose is the improved health and welfare of individual beneficiaries. There is also a wider benefit to communities and society in general in having a healthier population, and the benefits of research into new treatments and potential cures. These benefits will be evidenced through the restoration to health of those who are ill, a reduction in disease and mortality rates and a general improvement in health and welfare. They are also documented in the various charity reports for organisations that we support. The beneficiaries are those in need of basic healthcare services, primarily in developing nations but not exclusively. The Relief of Poverty. The Trust supports charities who work to relieve financial hardship by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind, including emergency food, clothing and household goods, to those living in poverty or deprivation. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include a general improvement in health and welfare, and the reduction of anxiety and stress associated with a poverty lifestyle. These benefits are well documented in the various charity reports for organisations that we support. The Advancement of Community Development. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is the encouragement of those who live in communities of socioeconomic need as they participate in development programs. This benefit is evidenced through feedback from the families and general public within the specific community of need who attend initiatives organised by the charities supported. The Improvement of the holistic life of communities in Developing Nations. The Foundation supports charities which provide opportunities to members of socially and economically disadvantaged communities to enable them to develop their skills in such a way that they are better able to identify and meet their needs and to participate more fully in their communities and society. The direct benefits which flow from purpose are the enhancement of individual and community capabilities, competences and skills. This includes increasing employability, supporting integration/re-integration within society and also includes improved wellbeing for individual beneficiaries. These benefits are demonstrated through user feedback to the charities and specific examples of personal change in the lives individuals. We do not anticipate that any harm will flow from any of the above purposes. We do not consider that any private benefit flows from any of the above purposes.
