Public benefits
The trustees believe that our purposes satisfy the public benefit requirement. The direct benefits which flow from the purposes include people who have autism in Northern Ireland living as independent and valued citizens, improved health and well-being outcomes including reduced levels of stress and anxiety, and increased opportunity for personal
development, education and employment. These benefits are evidenced by person-specific measures of progress and stakeholder surveys as well as by regular independent evaluation of our services by commissioning HSCTs and regulators. In providing carefully planned and managed person-centred programmes we can show that any risk is outweighed by the benefits, through our experience that controlled, person-centred risk-taking enables positive development. The beneficiaries are people with autism in Northern Ireland.

Autism Initiatives Northern Ireland works in partnership with our service users to provide a diverse range of services which are personal, professional and innovative. Everything we do is user-led and is designed to support them to become successful, independent communicators and problem-solvers, in a culture of lifelong learning, with emphasis on
self-esteem and building confidence. Autism Initiatives offers a range of services that support children and adults living with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), such as housing initiatives, health & wellbeing initiatives and positive intervention training as well as support for families of children and adults with autism.
