Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include a reduction in housing need and promotion of social cohesion, local community and promotion of family life. There is also a reduction in anti-social behaviour and reduced levels of stress for those who are vulnerable. Benefits are evidenced through feedback from tenants and independent
evaluation by regulatory bodies including the Department for Social Development and Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland who are experiencing poverty or those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc which trustees can transfer to other settings. However, these skills are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to the beneficiaries.

The purpose of The Radius Foundation is to promote or improve the economic, social or environmental well-being of those occupying the houses provided by Radius Housing Association or the areas in which they are located. The public benefits which flow include a reduction in housing need and promotion of social cohesion, local community and
promotion of family life. There is also a reduction in anti-social behaviour and reduced levels of stress for those who are vulnerable. The beneficiaries of the purpose are people living in Northern Ireland who are experiencing poverty or those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. Specifically we established a tenant support fund to support Radius tenants, stepped in to provide starter packs to tenants following the withdrawal of this service by the NI Housing Executive and established a grant programme where community organisations can apply for funding events or equipment to assist them in meeting their charitable objects.
