Benefit demonstrated through observation of improved behaviour, public testimony, monitoring of pastoral care. Beneficiaries: those wishing to discover more about or become a follower of the Christian faith. 2: Individuals enabled to generate a sustainable

income & be self-sufficient; depression eased, and takes volunteers minds off own circumstances. Benefit demonstrated through voucher system; feedback from volunteer team meetings. Beneficiaries: those in short term crisis/poverty. 3: Self-esteem & confidence increased; abilities & skills identified: leads to increased ability to contribute & integrate into community. Benefit demonstrated through people getting back into education, training & work, starting their own businesses & creating employment; creation of volunteer positions for unemployed, assisting those with learning difficulties, depression & anxiety. Beneficiaries: socially & economically disadvantaged. 4: Discrimination flashpoints, racial tensions, faith hate crimes diffused; acceptance & mutual understanding built between different groups. Benefit demonstrated through feedback groups. Beneficiaries: socially excluded individuals/groups. 5: Mental, emotional, social, physical welfare & well-being created for those experiencing despair & distress from isolation & loneliness; general well-being & condition of life improved. Benefit demonstrated through feedback & testimonials of recipients, award nominations, creating volunteer posts for some who have problems in these areas & feedback meetings with volunteer’s contact person. Beneficiaries: all ages and abilities. 6: Empowerment regained in a person’s decisions & actions enabling them to refocus & rebuild personal, family & employment goals; personal stability through freedom from addiction causing them to be net contributors to society rather than having a dependency on the system. Benefit demonstrated through ongoing feedback from beneficiaries & where appropriate, third party agencies involved in more specialist areas. Feedback sometimes gained through written Q&A. Beneficiaries: those in need of advice/counseling. 7: Stronger relationships & stable families created; stress of abusive home situations, divorce, family breakdown & subsequent pressure on outside agencies avoided. Benefit demonstrated through testimonials from couples; through marriage courses with Q&A couples can feedback in testimony on benefits received Beneficiaries: All relationships that need strengthened/repaired, that have breakdowns in communication or temporary separation. 8: Skills, capacities & capabilities developed to produce well adjusted young people who can participate in & contribute to society as mature & responsible individuals with self worth; internal value system created bringing ethical & moral behavior practices; positive role models created for other young people to follow. Benefit demonstrated through interviews, mentoring programs, feedback from team leaders in activities participated in & public feedback in peer/leadership settings. Beneficiaries: young people of all backgrounds & abilities. No harm arises from our purposes except: 1 Potential for an individual to be over reliant on pastoral care. Pastoral care team trained to be aware of this. 2 Creating dependency on the food-bank aspect of this purpose, mitigated by restricting beneficiaries to 3 food vouchers in a 6 month period. 5 Volunteers could become overly dependent on this purpose. Progress monitored through contact person. 6 Potential for a dependency to be created on the counsellor/counselling sessions. Each counsellor is aware of this. Private benefit received in 1, 2 & 7 of a salary for the Pastors & wage for administrator part time staff, these are necessary to achieve the purposes and are therefore incidental.

Charitable purposes

THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH The advancement of the Christian Faith in the world for the benefit of the public through, pastoral care, the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebrations of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature and media. RELIEF OF POVERTY The prevention or relief of poverty, or financial hardship, anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, and/or healthcare projects, through the provision of food-banks, goods and services, and any necessary support designed to enable individuals, where possible, to generate a sustainable income and become self-sufficient. SOCIAL INCLUSION Promote peace and reconciliation and assist in the advancement of bridge building between all communities. Promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between differing groups and working towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, nationality, gender, political affiliation, disability, age, sexuality, religion or marital status at home and further afield. COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially, economically, physically and mentally disadvantaged communities of Carrickfergus/Newtownabbey, and further afield, in such a way that they are better able to identify, meet their own needs, and participate more fully in their society. ADVICE AND COUNSELING The relief of the physical and mental sickness of persons in need by reason of addiction, hardship, or circumstance by the provision of counseling, support, advice and sign-posting. RECONCILIATION AND MEDIATION To provide, for the public benefit, assistance through reconciliation for individuals whose relationships, including, but not limited to, marital, are breaking down, and where relationships have already broken down, to advise and help in the settlement of differences or potential differences. RECREATION To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare through recreation or other leisure time occupations of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. YOUTH To advance in life and help young people through: The provision of recreational and leisure time facilities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life. Providing support and activities at home and further afield which develop life skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
