Public benefits
Purpose: To advance education research, and understanding of the Irish language and other regional minority languages on the island of Ireland. The benefits that flow from this include improved educational outputs, additional new research and improved social cohesion, tolerance and knowledge. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback from
the community, increased awareness of the shared cultural wealth relating to diversity and mutual understanding and through internal and external evaluation. There is no risk in increasing understanding, improving research and raising public awareness.

We inform statutory and voluntary agencies, government and the general public of issues of importance to regional and minority languages. We advocate, coordinate work, promote strategies and fora in arts, culture and community work. We promote education and research projects in or about Irish and other regional languages. We monitor and support
Irish medium education, training and cultural projects. We carry out research and translations and publish and disseminate information from a range of sources to the general public locally, nationally and internationally. We organise meetings, exhibitions and other events; we commission report and publish documents and information. We fund raise, recruit and train volunteers, employ staff members. We encourage cooperation with a wide range of bodies, including groups with similar aims internationally.

Charitable purposes
To promote all or any purposes for the benefit of the Irish speaking population of Ireland (hereinafter called 'the area of benefit) which now or may hereafter be deemed by law to be charitable and in particular to advance education, research into and understanding of the Irish language and other regional and minority languages and to promote culture through raising public awareness, knowledge and understanding of the cultural heritage of Ireland, with the object of improving the condition of the inhabitants of the area of benefit.
