The purpose of Bangor Abbey Pre-school Centre is to provide a pre-school playgroup for children age 3/4 years where they learn through play within an education environment. The pre-school is committed to providing equality of opportunity, it is our policy that each child and their family shall be valued as unique individuals whatever their class,
special needs, gender or religious beliefs. Bangor Abbey pre-school welcomes children from Bangor and outlying areas. We aim to advance the education of the beneficiaries through the provision of safe satisfying group play. The benefits are evidenced through regular observations of the beneficiaries which are documented and reviewed with parents/guardians at regular intervals. The pre-school has external assessments from an independent Early Years Advisor, Social services and Education Inspectors. Meetings of the Management committee take place regularly where financial matters and the daily general business of the group is discussed and recorded. The pre-school implements extensive policies and procedures eg Child Protection, Health and Safety, Code of Conduct for Staff to minimise any possibility of harm or injury to the beneficiaries. Fees apply to those children who attend afternoon pre-pre sessions. All monies raised on or on behalf of the group shall be applied to further the object of the pre-school. There are no private benefits within the group.

Bangor Abbey pre-school Centre is a pre-school which serves the local community and outlying areas. We cater for children from two years ten months up to four years of age. We have three classrooms within a primary school which allows us to provide a variety of resources enabling young children to explore and experiment while learning through play
in a safe stimulating environment under the supervision of trained staff. We are able to use some of the school facilities eg school gym hall and also the school playground thus allowing us to have physical play and development incorporated into our curriculum. The pre-school is managed by a voluntary group of elected parents onto the pre-school committee, these parents will oversee the running of the group and also plan any fund raising events throughout the year.
