Public benefits
The purpose is to bring young people in this socially deprived rural area together including everyone irrespective of sex, ethnicity, ability or religion. For the young people to participate in activities, to explore their values and beliefs and to learn to accept each other’s differences. Subsequently this would result in a better quality of life
for everyone in the area especially the young people themselves. The benefits can be evidenced through feedback from the youth by completing questionnaires and by the number of young people and volunteers within the youth club who have successfully completed several training courses in youth work. Risk assessments are regularly undertaken to ensure that minimal harm can arise from the purpose. Any small potential harm is greatly outweighed by the benefits. There is no private benefit.

We provide a safe environment for the personal and social development of young people in the area. We encourage them to develop their voice, influence and place in society enabling them reach their potential. We promote participation with the young people working in partnership with adults in decision making and managing the youth club. We
challenge the young people to look at their values and beliefs and accept others who are different from themselves. We also promote inclusion of young people with disabilities. All of these in turn improve community relations.
