The direct benefits which flow from our purpose is the education of participants in the history of the 36th (Ulster) Division and further using this to better understand the they played in shaping the Northern Ireland of today. This benefit is evidenced by the increased participant numbers in each programme delivered and by the continued support of

various grant giving agencies where specific outcomes have been identified and delivered. There is no harm or possibility of harm leading from the purpose of the organisation. The charities beneficiaries are all individuals and groups in Northern Ireland regardless of age, disability, social or economic circumstance. The only private benefit from this purpose is that trustees may avail of any programme, training or event delivered by the organisation. This is incidental and does not impact on the public benefit

The organisation produces educational literature, puts on exhibitions, lectures and symposiums, large and small scale drama and facilitates educational trips to relvant locations

Charitable purposes

The Society is established to promote arts and culture in our community relating to but nit specifically the 36th Ulster Division and in doing so we will advance education, promote the culture and arts and to promote the benefit of celebrating and remembering to the people of Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) by the provision of facilities in the interests of arts and culture for recreation or other leisure-time occupation of people in the area of benefit who are in need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, disability or social or economic circumstances and in particular to: a) encourage appreciation for and participation in community-based activities in arts and culture in the area of benefit; b) advance arts and culture and promote awareness of history, folklore and cultural heritage of the 36th Ulster Division and other indigenous cultures.
