Public benefits
Pretty ‘n’ Pink Breast Cancer Charity exists for the public benefit and primarily within Northern Ireland and this can be demonstrated as follows: i. Provide financial support, and other support services to patients with breast cancer and / or their families in Northern Ireland in need by reason of ill-health. The benefits that flow from this
purpose include financial relief administered to patients with breast cancer and / or their families via a charitable Support Fund, and a reduction of stress and anxiety caused by the financial burdens of living with a breast cancer diagnosis. Reduction of emotional anxiety caused by breast cancer through respite breaks provided by the Support Fund, and through social outing funded by the charity. Improved self-confidence from goods and services provided by the Support Fund such as specialist post-surgery underwear and clothing for patients who have lost or gained weight. Reduction in feelings of isolation and increased emotional peer support networks built through an online support group and during social outings. Signposting to other support services via the charity website and support groups. Relaxation and stress reduction from proposed future therapies such as meditation sessions. Beneficiaries of this purpose are patients with breast cancer living in Northern Ireland and may also include the family members of these patients. A private benefit flowing from these purposes may include those companies and suppliers involved in supplying goods and / or services for social events and the Support Fund, but this is necessary and incidental to ensure that the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. ii. Help advance education of breast cancer awareness and breast care awareness among people in Northern Ireland. The benefits which flow from this purpose include increased awareness of breast care and possible symptoms of breast cancer gained from information provided on the website and from literature produced and distributed by the charity, the potential to lead to increased early diagnosis of breast cancer and improved health outcomes. This benefit can be demonstrated through the revision and updating when necessary of breast cancer information provided and through continuous evaluation of our services. Beneficiaries are people in Northern Ireland. This purpose does not lead to harm. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose. iii. Any other charitable purposes as applicable to the overall objectives of the charity. This purpose may include any services the charity may decide to provide in the future that will help improve the lives of patients with breast cancer in Northern Ireland, and / or their families, where there is no harm to these beneficiaries and where there is no private benefit or where any private benefit is incidental and necessary in advancing the charity’s purposes.
