Thrive meets the public benefit requirement by the advancement of the arts, culture heritage or science. Each purpose is dealt with in turn as follows: 1. To promote, maintain, enhance and develop the relationships between arts organisations and their audiences, current or potential, within the area of benefit. The direct benefit which flows from
this purpose includes an increase in participation in, and attendance at arts events, and also a higher level of engagement with the arts from all sections of society throughout Northern Ireland. These benefits are demonstrated through analysis and insight into audience data showing an increase in audience numbers and also frequency of attendance from all postcodes across Northern Ireland. These benefits are also demonstrated through regular evaluation of services and feedback from participating organisations and the general public There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all existing and potential audience members in Northern Ireland. A private benefit may be derived for Thrive stakeholders, who will receive insight about their audiences from data analysis through their membership, but this benefit is necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries, and stakeholder engagement is open to all. 2. To introduce members of the public to a wide variety of the arts and to encourage and foster their cultural interest both as participants and audiences. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose include an increased value placed on the importance of the arts in society and an acceptance of how its positive impact can be seen in all aspects of life. These benefits are demonstrated through analysis of levels of arts provision across Northern Ireland and an increase in number and amount of diverse income streams. These benefits are also demonstrated through regular evaluation of services and feedback from participating organisations and the general public There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are cultural organisations across Northern Ireland and the general public. There is no private benefit. 3. To promote, assist and encourage the awareness of the beneficial value of the arts generally in all its forms by such means as shall from time to time be considered expedient and appropriate by the directors. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose include an increased value placed on the importance of the arts in society and an acceptance of how its positive impact can be seen in all aspects of life. These benefits are demonstrated through increased coverage of the arts in the media and an analysis of arts provision in other public sector bodies e.g. Education, Health and Social Development. These benefits are also demonstrated through regular evaluation of services and feedback from participating organisations and the general public throughout Northern Ireland. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are cultural organisations across Northern Ireland and the general public. There is no private benefit.

Thrive is a Charity focused on audience research and development across Northern Ireland. We support the arts and heritage sector by offering our research, evaluation and communication expertise along with free resources and tailored support to give grassroots organisations the tools to develop long lasting relationships with the people and places
around them. Our research projects also provide baseline information to government and and partnering strategic bodies to help them understand better the public benefit (financial and social) of a thriving and engaged cultural sector.
