Public benefits

The purpose of Happy Faces Playgroup is to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age of the Clady, Strabane and its surrounding environs in County Tyrone without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by

associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisation and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a) to advance the education of the children by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/guardians to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group and to promote the preservation of health of the child The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include providing a curriculum planned and implemented to meet the needs of all the individual children attending the setting who are learning through play in a safe, secure and stimulating indoor and outdoor areas. These benefits can be demonstrated by – Gathering daily observations on each of the individual children, based on the six areas of learning. These observations help to demonstrate when providing feedback to parents/guardians, how the children have met their developmental milestones, through the curriculum that is based on their own interests and ideas. b) to support the values and principles of Early Years The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include providing a play based environment for all children attending regardless of culture, disability, gender, race, nationality or religion. The setting is an equal opportunities evidence based innovate service for children and their families in the community and the wider surrounding areas. These benefits can be demonstrated by the establishment of a partnership and respected between service providers and parents/guardians, as parents/guardians are the children’s first educators. Together with a consistent approach and alongside relevant agencies we can give the children a better start in life and help them build the foundations to reach their full potential. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. We provide a safe and secure environment for all the individual children and their families, risk assessing to ensure the highest safety and to make adaptations when necessary to meet the individual needs of the service users. All relevant personnel are vetted, a locked system is put in place during the children’s operational hours and any visitors are asked for identification and logged in and out securely. The charity’s beneficiaries are – the children attending the setting under statutory school age. There is no private benefit flowing from the purposes of the charity.

What your organisation does

Our aim is to provide Early Years play-based education for the children of Clady, Strabane and its surrounding environs in County Tyrone. Thereby we strive to work with parents and guardians of all the children and surrounding areas to ensure that the children are ready for the transition to primary education.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age, (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Clady, Strabane and its surrounding environs in County Tyrone (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisation and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: (a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and (b) to support the values and principles of Early Years.
