Cancer Focus Northern Ireland is a leading cancer charity. For over 50 years, the charity has positively impacted the lives of local people affected through four main areas of work: 1) Cancer Support Services 2) Cancer Prevention Initiatives 3) Research 4) Policy & Advocacy The charity’s mission is to support local people on their cancer

journey; working to reduce the risk, impact and outcomes of all cancers. Cancer Focus NI’s vision is a society where people can live their most fulfilled lives with access to world-leading, equitable cancer support, treatment, diagnosis, prevention and research.

What your organisation does

Cancer Focus NI delivers a range of cancer services, initiatives, campaigns and research projects to support local people on their cancer journey. Over the next five to seven years, the charity will aim to open five Therapeutic Support Centres in towns and cities across Northern Ireland. The first of these will open in Enniskillen in late 2024.

From these centres, local people will be able to better access the charity’s existing range of cancer support services such as Counselling, Family Support, Bra & Swimwear Fitting, a Patient Driving Service and Support Groups. The charity also delivers Cancer Prevention initiatives including Wellness Van and Health Checks, Skin Cancer Awareness and Stop Smoking Services. It leads as a local cancer charity voice in effecting change in public policy and invests in local research of unmet needs. To provide this vital and life-changing work, the charity must raise £4.4m each year through the generosity of funders, businesses and supporters.
