Public benefits

The public benefits that flow from these purposes are: (a) reduced hardship, stress and anxiety; (b) enhanced educational attainment, transferable skills, capabilities and capacities and improved potential to secure employment; (c) increased opportunities to engage in new activities that bring people together, leading to greater social cohesion,

improvements in health and fitness, well-being and fulfilment; (d) greater knowledge of the health support and services available and general improvement in health; (e) increased self-awareness, confidence and resilience and the development of social and communication skills and abilities and an enhanced sense of purpose and fulfilment; (f) greater social cohesion, a reduction in tension and conflict between people from different religious, racial, ethnic or other backgrounds and a reduction in social isolation; (g)/(h) general improvement in the quality and conditions of life of women residing in the area of benefit. The beneficiaries are women living in the area of benefit. These benefits can be evidenced through internal monitoring records kept on the participation, progress and development of the beneficiaries, evaluations of the work and impact of the Centre, feedback from the beneficiaries and the findings of community surveys. No harm or private benefit arises from these purposes.

What your organisation does

Organises 30-50 training, education and health promotion courses/programmes in any given calendar year. Provides childcare, transport and counselling service for the women/mothers that attend the Centre. Provides transport for the women and children to attend the Centre.

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Company shall be the: (a) relief of unemployment among women in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment; (b) advancement of education, training or retraining and providing unemployed women with work experience; (c) provision of recreational facilities for women or those who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities; (d) preservation and protection of health of women and the provision of childcare. (f) development of the capacity and skills of women in the area of benefit in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society. (g) promotion of social inclusion, equality of opportunity and good relations across all diversity strands, including race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion and disability and to encourage diversity. (h) establishment or securing the establishment of a Centre, and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects. (i) promotion of all or any objects for the benefit of women who live in South Tyrone (the “area of benefit”) which now or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable.
