What your organisation does

Kidzone Playgroup was established in 1986 (formerly Cloughreagh Playgroup) and we have been able to provide a high quality, accessible childcare provision which promotes early education. During this time we have provided a key service for the local and wider ward areas. We aim to provide a stimulating learning environment where the children can be

experimental and active, competant and independent as they begin to understand the world around them. Currently we employ 4 dedicated staff who are responsible for the day to day operations of the setting and are fully committed to the visions and values of Early Years. There are 24 children registered within the setting aged from 3 to 4 years old and we work in line with the N.I. curriculum focusing on the key 6 areas of learning e.g. personal, social, etc. The playgroup also uses the High Scope approach to early learning. Kidzone Playgroup is operated by a voluntary Board of Directors and volunteers who recognise development in Pre-school years is extremely important and we act in line with our articles of memorandum. The aim of the playgroup is to provide a safe, caring, active learning environment which enables children to enjoy learning, develop self-confidence, be independent learners, become problem solvers and care about others and their environment. The Afterschool offers 24 places to children of statutory school age, 4 to 12 years old and is overseen by the Board of Directors also. This service is invaluable to local families and enables local children to access opportunities which otherwise may be limited. The Afterschool aims to create a happy, secure, caring and stimulating environment in which to help children reach their full potential. All children are cared for with equal concern. Children with special requirements or needs are welcome and we have supported placements in place.
