Public benefits
The benefits from the preschool to the beneficiaries are Preschool education for 3-4 year old children in the local community, involvement of families in the community to participate in the early education of their children and involvement and integration of children with special educational needs and working with other professionals to develop
these children. The preschool centre is inspected annually by Department of Health and Social Services and frequently by Department of Education for Northern Ireland (DENI). Reports from both these bodies are issued and displayed for parents/visitors to read. As members of Early Years (formally NIPPA) we have an Early Years Specialist who makes regular visits to the preschool centre to ensure quality education is being provided. The organisation currently employs three members of staff in order to carry out the purposes of the organisation. The management committee is currently made up of volunteers, which may on some occasions get expenses paid i.e travelling to training etc., otherwise there are no private benefits for anyone connected to the organisation. The organisation is funded by DENI for children in their preschool year, therefore resulting in no charge to these parents. If parents choose for their children to attend in their pre preschool year then there is a daily charge for this as this year is not funded by DENI.
