Public benefits

The purpose of Omagh Early Years Centre is to advance the education and development of children and young people under the age of 14 resident in the Omagh area and its environs through the encouragement of parents and guardians/carers in the understanding of and the provision for the needs of such children. The direct benefits that flow from our

purpose include the major benefits to the children in developing their physical, social, emotional, Language and Communication, and creativity skills. The service benefits the parents/carers by allowing parents to work knowing their child/children are safe and happy in our setting. We also accommodate additional needs children in our setting which benefits all the children by integrating these children with able bodied children in a day care setting. Another direct benefit would be providing care so that parents can attend training. We offer flexible day care provision accommodating the needs of working parents and single parents in our Community. We provide benefit to the parents by offering training in child development and furthering their knowledge and helping their children develop. A direct benefit would also be relieving unemployment through the provision of high quality and affordable childcare, training, learning and employment initiatives. These benefits are evidenced through the demand for our services, from the feedback we receive and questionnaires that service users complete on a yearly basis and feedback from external agencies we work in partnership with. The purpose of our charity should not lead to any harm. The Charity’s beneficiaries are children, parents, carers, child-minders, and Social Services in the Omagh and surrounding area. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is payment of staff wages and staff training. This is incidental and necessary to ensure the appropriate care of children in our setting. A private benefit to our Board of Directors would be ongoing training in such areas as good governance, finance, and child protection. This is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
