To develop the skills and capacity of the local community, particularly those who are socially and economically disadvantaged, such that they can better meet their needs and participate more fully in society The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: better energy awareness leading to savings on fuel costs; people attain skills and
knowledge to grow and cook a more balanced and healthier diet using food which is free from additives and more nutritionally balanced; more informed about the possibilities of renewable energy and energy saving measures; participation in our community activities enables positive social interaction; increase in physical and mental well being. To relieve financial hardship by supporting and encouraging local action to lessen the impact of declining availability of fossil fuels. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include people are more informed about the impact of using fossil fuels; better able to make savings on fuel costs, e.g. bulk purchase fuel through community scheme; by walking, cycling and car sharing beneficiaries are saving fuel costs. To educate the general public about our changing climate and the effect this will have on our community and environment The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: more awareness of what climate change is; people can grow their own food free from additives; local farmer benefits through sale of his produce; reduction in transport costs by growing food in a more sustainable way; use of locally produced organic fertiliser to replace the declining availability and increasing cost of artificial fertiliser thus leading to future cost savings; people can save money through energy saving measures; healthier lifestyles through community allotment schemes leading to a reduction in sedentary lifestyle and encouragement of physical activity; shared learning among group members about energy and food. These benefits will be evidenced by verbal sharing of information at meetings and events; records of meetings and events; visible local produce; case studies and testimonies from individuals about life style changes; evaluation forms; press cuttings; research published by like minded organisations. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are people in the Omagh District Council area interested in sustainable development. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is than a trustee will gain skills and knowledge through our education programme. Through this trustees gain skills which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

We provide one off events and courses such as growing your own food and tips for saving energy. We link with other organisations and groups to inform and share information. We have assisted a
number of like minded community development groups through out the area.
