Public benefits

The benefits which flow from the first purpose are that work is being carried out in the area of benefit to combat poverty and social and economic deprivation to improve the conditions of the area for its inhabitants. These benefits can be demonstrated by government statistics and reports. The intended beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the

Portadown sector of Craigavon and its environs. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose and there is no harm flowing from it. The benefits flowing from the second purpose include encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship, increasing business start ups. We believe our work continues to offer incentives and provide opportunities for local people to start up and grow their businesses in Mayfair. These benefits can be demonstrated by monitoring reports produced by DSD, DETI, CBC, INI and other interested parties including SEUPB. The intended beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Portadown sector of Craigavon and its environs. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose and there is no harm flowing from it. The third purpose is: (iii) the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among unemployed people, and providing unemployed people with work experience. The benefits flowing from this purpose include improving the research resources and facilities available to existing clients/ tenants (and their employees) wishing to undertake business and enterprise development research; facilitating the local secondary school(s) to undertake training and development work in the areas of Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Employability in a work related environment; improving employment prospects and opportunities for people (to avail of job vacancies) who successfully complete training/development delivered in the IT Suite and creating employment opportunities for people , who having successfully completed enterprise and entrepreneurial development and research and who decide to pursue the self employment option. These benefits can be demonstrated through records of the number of local people accessing the facilities and partaking in training courses provided. The intended beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Portadown sector of Craigavon and its environs. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose and there is no harm flowing from it. The fourth purpose is: (iv) the provision of financial assistance, technical assistance or business advice or consultancy in order to provide training and employment opportunities for unemployed people in cases of financial or other charitable need through help: (i) in setting up their own business, or (ii) to existing businesses. The benefits which flow from this purpose include giving local people the opportunity to learn practical and technical business skills, recognise entrepreneurial talent, increase self-employment and employment opportunities. Also allowing participants to gain a Level 2 qualification, receive guidance and support from industry members. These benefits can be demonstrated through records of the number of local people accessing the facilities and partaking in training courses provided. The intended beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Portadown sector of Craigavon and its environs. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose and there is no harm flowing from it. The benefits flowing from the fifth purpose include accessibility for the local people of a community owned asset, which was established and developed to contribute to the economic and social well being of its hinterland community. These benefits can be demonstrated through records of the number of local people accessing the facilities. The intended beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Portadown sector of Craigavon and its environs. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose and there is no harm flowing from it.

The main activities of the company are unchanged from foundation, and are principally:- • Enterprise development including mentoring and small business initiatives • Workspce provision and property management • Community development • Work related training /development and employment programmes • Infrastructure improvement We offer business

start programmes giving participants the opportunity to learn practical, technical business skills, recognise entrepreneurial talent, increase self-employment and employment opportunities. . Giving unemployed young people the opportunity to work in real life work environment is essential to their development and modified behaviour suitable for a work place. Many of the young people have what we call learned street behaviour that is unsuitable for the work place. All of our programmes are free to participants including ECDL etc. many young people do leave school with no relevant IT knowledge we try to fill this gap without putting up barriers.

Charitable purposes

The purpose is stated under clause 3 of the Memorandum of Association of Mayfair Business Centre Limited. The objects of the Company shall be the promotion for the public benefit of urban regeneration in the Portadown sector of Craigavon and its environs (the “area of benefit”), being an area of social and economic deprivation, by all or any of the following means: i. the relief of poverty in such ways as may be though t fit; ii. the relief of unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment; iii. the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among unemployed people, and providing unemployed people with work experience; iv. the provision of financial assistance, technical assistance or business advice or consultancy in order to provide training and employment opportunities for unemployed people in cases of financial or other charitable need through help: (i) in setting up their own business, or (ii) to existing businesses; v. the creationof training and employment opportunities by the provision of workspace, buildings and/or land for use on favourable terms.
