Public benefits

The main aim of the group is to enhance the development and education of 3-12 years. This can be divided into preschool and afterschool as follows: Purpose 1 - To enhance the development and education of preschool children. The direct benefits from purpose 1 include improving the personal, social and emotional development of preschool children,

developing language and literacy, self expression through exploring various art forms, physical development (gross and fine motor skills), exploring and understanding the environment and providing early mathematical experiences. This also prepares the children for their first year of school. The purpose does not give rise to harm. The beneficiaries are children in the Carryduff area and surrounding area, their parents and carers. The benefits are evidenced through feedback from parents and carers and from inspections by Social Services and ETI. No private benefit to trustees arises through these activities. Purpose 2 - To enhance the development and education of school age children (afterschool care/ wraparound care) The direct benefits from purpose 2 include enabling the parents and carers of school age children to work or further education. Benefits to the children include the personal and social development from being cared for in a stimulating environment which offers a variety of experiences and opportunities for all children regardless of religion, culture, race or means. The purpose does not give rise to harm. The beneficiaries are the children in the surrounding area of the play care centre, their parents and carers, who then have improved access to work and education opportunities,.The benefits are evidenced through feedback from parents and carers and from inspections by Social Services and ETI. No private benefit to trustees arises through these activities.

Charitable purposes

2.1 The group is established to enhance the development and education of children from age 3 to 12 years by offering appropriate play facilities for all children attending the group (hereafter referred to as the “beneficiaries” of Carryduff and its surrounding environs (hereafter referred to as the “area of benefit” without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a) To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and b) to support the values and principles of Early Years
