•Improvement of living standards and quality of life of the residents of the Ardoyne area and their families •Reduced stress and worry, and improved outlook of the residents of the Ardoyne area and family members •Reduced sense of alienation and disconnection •Improved social and family reintegration The benefits which flow from the relief of those in need include; •Improved economic and social circumstances by the maximization of full benefit and grant entitlement income •Increased potential for employment •Income maximization through the provision of accurate, up to date information on benefits and entitlements of those wishing to return to work or gain employment •Improved economic and social circumstances by maximization of full benefit and grant entitlements and so maximization of income and improving of living standards, and so quality of life of residents of Ardoyne area and their families wishing to return to work or gain employment •Reduced stress and worry and improved outlook residents of Ardoyne area and family members The benefits which flow from the advancement of education include; •Enhanced education and understanding, increased skills and knowledge base, enhanced mobility of labour and employment capacity of residents of Ardoyne area and family members •Improved and/or enhanced employability and economic prospects through the advancement of career and employment opportunities of residents of Ardoyne area and family members. •Reduced stress and worry and improved outlook of residents of Ardoyne area and family members The benefits which flow from the advancement of health include; •Improved physical, mental and emotional well-being by attracting recreational facilities •Reduced anxieties and stress and anti-social behaviour •Reduced sense of alienation and disconnection •Improved social and family reintegration •Improved mental and emotional health by providing referral to progressive options and/or support services •Enhanced potential for the personal development of beneficiaries by providing referral to advice, training and education services •Improving beneficiaries mental and emotional health by providing a network of referral pathways and working partnerships with all relevant health, statutory and community support services •Improved health and fitness through the provision of programmes, events and activities supporting personal development, health promotion and healthy living •Increased awareness of health issues and healthy living •Enhanced confidence and self-esteem •Enhanced personal, inter-community and cross community development The charity’s beneficiaries are the residents of Ardoyne area and their families and district area of Belfast and its environs. All benefits are demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries, participation evaluation forms, the maintaining of statistical data, beneficiary files detailing achievements and progression routes, staff and management monthly and annual reports. Research, surveys and investigations are carried out into the needs and experiences of the residents of Ardoyne area and their families and published for AGM. There is no harm or possibility of harm arising from any of the purposes.Trustees receive private incidental benefit from the purposes by their experience of managing an organisation providing services. They enhance their skills and organisational abilities by their participation.They also receive private benefit in that they can attend conferences or events organized by the Ardoyne Association which are open to all.

What your organisation does

The association provides a free, private and confidential service for the benefit of the Inhabitants of the Ardoyne Area and district area of Belfast and its environs; our main areas of work are around Social and Private Housing, Social Security Benefits including, Disability& Carers, Housing Benefit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income

Support, JSA, Social Fund, Pensions, Pension Credit etc... We also provide information and advice on Consumer issues, Employment, Health, and Debt and have an excellent referral system. Over 3000 people have passed through our offices in the last year, with 1653 interviewed, 493 collected forms, 648 forms completed, 16 home visits and income generated for these people in 2013 in the sum of £1.9million, by way of entitlement to benefits. We have had 14 presentations sessions on the pending Welfare Reform Bill and Benefit changes, to date 1275 people have attended these sessions. In the area of housing, environmental and community safety we have reclaimed wasteland for gardens, ran campaigns against litter dumping, graffiti, dog fouling. We were responsible for turning alley ways and entries from rubbish pits into hanging basket walk ways by promoting and providing alleygates, which reduced anti-social behaviour and increased the security of over 1697 homes. Our re-imaging murals projects involved 157 community meetings, moving people mind sets from political/paramilitary to cultural to promote community harmony through inter-generational and cross community activities and so leading to healthier living. We have instigated an education for all policy within the community by setting up and running an educational task group, to look at setting up three new schools and adult educational programme.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to relieve poverty, sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit of the Inhabitants of the Ardoyne Area and district area of Belfast and its environs(hereinafter described as “the area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
