Public benefits

Purpose one – to advance health and well being. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are the improved health and well being of the beneficiaries. This will be evidenced through feedback from the people of the community and also by having regular fitness tests and health checks. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all the residents

of Mid Ulster. A private benefit to trustees could arise from our programme in that trustees and family may want to attend to gain knowledge and improve health and well being just like everyone else in the community. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose two – to promote amateur sport, community recreation and play. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are that more people will become involved in various sports. They will also become more active within their communities and spend more time doing physical activities. These will be evidenced through feedback from local sports clubs, youth clubs schools and community groups by attendances within these groups. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all the residents of Mid Ulster. A private benefit to trustees could arise from our programmes in that trustees and family members may wish to attend a sports club or group. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose three – to advance community development by providing education and support regarding health. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are that more people within the community will become more educated and gain knowledge on health and well being. The beneficiaries will have increased knowledge on the help available to them from statutory and non statutory agencies. These will be evidenced through feedback on attendances on programmes and courses and workshops. Also, it will be evidenced through qualifications and training gained through the programmes, courses and workshops. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all the people of Mid Ulster. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training. Through this training, the trustees gain skills and experience to which they can use in other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose four – to promote good community relations, social cohesion, racial harmony, equality and diversity. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include people of the community becoming better educated on different cultures and beliefs. They will learn to work together and respect each other and what they believe. Also, everyone will be treated equal and have equal opportunity to attend all programmes, courses and workshops organised and run by The Fitzone Foundation. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all the residents of Mid Ulster. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programmes in that trustees and their family members may also want to know about different cultures and beliefs and take part. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

Provides education and training courses, seminars and summer schemes for people including children of all ages in the following: in health promotion including smoking cessation, cooking on a budget, physical training & exercise, summer club for children.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (‘the Objects’) are to:- (1) Advance the health and well-being of the residents of Mid Ulster regardless of age, ethnic origin, ability, gender, sexual orientation, belief or political affiliation. (2) Promote amateur sport, community recreation and play. (3) Advance community development by providing education, encouragement and support regarding health and well-being to local community groups and organisations and by working with statutory and non-statutory agencies. (4) Promote good community relations and social cohesion, racial harmony and equality and diversity.
