The direct benefits which flow from the purpose to promote the Ulster Scots language in any way possible include improved educational outcomes and cultural awareness of this minority language, which is safe guarded under European Law. The benefits are evidenced through feedback from educational facilities and from community groups and the general
public that use the services plus regular independent evaluation of our services by The Ulster-Scots Agency. There is no rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are anyone who wishes to be educated about the Ulster Scots language. These also include family members. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. The direct benefits which flow from the purpose to provide a local educational resource for Ulster Scots include providing an Educational and Cultural learning Centre for improving knowledge of Ulster Scots, producing Ulster Scots educational and audio material and helping Government with translational material. The benefits are evidenced by feedback from the service users, and independent evaluations from the Ulster Scots Agency. There is no rise to any harm from this purpose. The beneficiaries are people who wish to be educated on Ulster Scots language, Culture and Heritage by having resources available for them. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training, which is transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. The direct benefits which flow from promoting and preserving the culture and heritage of local people, in particular those who reside in the North Antrim area and Northern Ireland include the advancement of culture and heritage in North Antrim and Northern Ireland. Educational advancement is another direct benefit. These benefits are evidence through feedback from participants on courses, workshops etc...... The educational resources and work with Museums and other heritage groups, and independent evaluation from the Ulster Scots Agency. There is no rise to any harm from this purpose. The beneficiaries are people who live in North Antrim and Northern Ireland and are interested in Ulster Scots culture. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose. To promote for the public benefit, the use of the Ulster-Scots language in present day speech and education and encouraging the Ulster-Scots tradition in music, dance, ballads and storytelling The direct benefits which flow is increased education in the Ulster Scots traditions leading to a greater awareness of the tradition and cultural significance. These benefits are evidence through feedback from the community groups, participants, educational facilities, local council and government bodies, and independent evaluations from the Ulster Scots agency. The direct benefits which flow from the final purpose include greater examination of the Ulster Scots tradition leading to a greater appreciation of the Ulster Scots culture and ability to access information regarding the Ulster Scots tradition. These benefits are evidence through feedback from participants, community groups, local councils and government bodies, and independent evaluations from the Ulster Scots agency. The principle activities are advancing education and cultural activities in Ulster-Scots language, culture and heritage by providing educational classes to schools and the general public. We also provide the necessary tutors; produce the resource books, plan the workshops, write and produce dramas with schools and the general public, hold visual
arts events, music tuition and cultural classes. We assist community groups who wish to avail of Ulster-Scots activities by providing all the resources they require. We produce written material in the Ulster-Scots language which is used in educational teaching environments and also cultural material which is used by museums and other interested groups. We also provide translational services to the public and government departments when necessary. We advance arts, culture, heritage alongside citizenship and community development by having cultural activities with the focus on Ulster-Scots from a variety of sources such as running the local community radio station in north Antrim, providing audio podcasts, offering training to volunteers and producing exhibitions. We also have the centre where tourists stop to learn about Ulster-Scots or research the culture, heritage or language associated with Ulster-Scots. We also ensure the human rights of native Ulster-Scots Speakers are heard in Government and local departments. We participate in debates, open evenings and public meetings in relation to promotion of the Ulster-Scots language, culture and heritage across the nine counties of Ulster.
