The benefit which flows from purpose one: To maintain and manage a community centre in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the Association (hereinafter called “the Centre”); is the availability of a safe and neutral facility for residents of the said area of benefit to use for meetings or training courses with various educational or
government bodies. This benefit can be demonstrated by word of mouth from the attendees and feedback from the organising bodies using the facilities. This purpose does not lead to any harm. The beneficiaries are all inhabitants within the environs of Killicomaine Estate in Portadown. The benefit which flows from purpose two: To support the development of a cohesive, shared and integrated community and promote the wellbeing of those living in the area of benefit through the provision of educational, social and recreational activities; is a united community which has come together as one to achieve its targets. Further benefit is a more vibrant and inclusive society via the educational programmes and recreational activities. These benefits are demonstrated by the diverse set up within the organisation and also through feedback generated from the activities laid on by the organisation. This purpose does not lead to any harm and the beneficiaries are all residents within the Killicomaine area. The benefit which flows purpose three: To relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by providing them with information, representation and advocacy with issues such as housing, community safety, the environment and community relations; is a more informed society and healthier community lifestyle, giving residents a better standard of living conditions and environment. These benefits can be demonstrated by the Group’s representation on the various committees and via the community newsletter outlining the successes carried out for the community. This purpose does not lead to any harm and the beneficiaries are all residents within the Killicomaine community.

Killicomaine Residents Group is committed to creating a safer, more inclusive, and vibrant community for everyone who lives, works, and plays in the area. Through early intervention and a strong focus on education, we provide opportunities for participation, volunteering and voice to build a better future together. To achieve our goals, we run
several projects. Dig Killicomaine, an intergenerational allotment initiative offering three weekly sessions to teach gardening and life skills by growing vegetables whilst fostering a connection with nature. Hype Tots provides parents and toddlers with a supportive space to help families thrive and ensure young children have the best start in life. The Community Fridge offers affordable food to reduce living costs and combat social isolation. Hype Learning provides after-school support, helping young people with homework and promoting education as a transformative tool. Hype Play provides a safe space for young people to explore, learn, and grow through play. Our people centred approach is reflected in our wider engagement at annual events, including the July Fun Day, Pumpkin Patch, and Christmas Celebrations. We also represent the community in inter-agency forums and housing networks, advocating for improvements to local infrastructure. By engaging with government departments and statutory agencies, we strive to address local challenges and enhance Killicomaine as a welcoming and thriving place for all.
