What your organisation does

Gasyard Wall Féile is an organisation set up to design and implement a community festival and timetable of events throughout the year to enhance the quality of lives of residents living in a deprived community. Working in partnership with a number of groups, initiatives, volunteers and community activists, we shape and manage a fantastic programme

of events. The events range in form from music, literature, sport, education, visual arts, carnival, fun days, health, discussions, lectures, conferences, community consultation and tours. The programme is celebratory, exploratory and diversionary in nature. It included festivals and events at key dates throughout the year. Its initiatives are designed to support and promote all sections of this neighbourhood. The GWF and has grown to become a catalyst for increasing community participation and engagement in the ongoing regeneration processes within the area and a significant contributor to the city’s cultural calendar. Since its inception the GWF programme has been community led and all initiatives adhere to the underpinning principle of respect for diversity, tolerance and promotion of healthy inter and intra community relations striving to make this neighbourhood a safe and attractive place to live, work and visit for all. Our goal is to develop skills, provide access to the creative industries and develop social and capital regeneration for local residents.
