The benefits which flow from the purpose of Fermanagh Rural Community Network are the provision of practical support in the form of guidance, information and signposting to their full and affiliated members. A benefit is also educational and networking opportunities being made available for member groups and the community through accessing the

knowledge and expertise of the locally based staff, using the facilities provided in the resource centre and network services and programmes. Fermanagh Rural Community Network provides the above benefits to their rural communities by directly tackling issues that are causing disadvantage and poverty through; Empowering the voice of rural communities; Championing excellence in community development practice; Developing civic leadership in rural communities through a community development approach; Actively working towards an equitable and peaceful society; Promoting the sustainable development of rural communities. These benefits can be demonstrated through the Annual Reports of Fermanagh Rural Community Network and through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of work being carried out. The beneficiaries of Fermanagh Rural Community Networks are community groups and the general public living in the area of benefit. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Fermanagh Rural Community Network.

Fermanagh Rural Community Network as the Local Rural Support Network for County Fermanagh provides practical support, guidance, information, signposting and networking opportunities for member groups, through our locally based staff, resource centre and network services and programmes. This benefits rural community groups in developing sustainable

rural communities, directly tackling issues that are causing disadvantage and poverty. Services offered by Fermanagh Rural Community Network include: • FRCN Resource Centre includes information, publications and statistical resources, internet access • Development and Administrative Staff providing ongoing direct developmental and back up support for Member Groups • Community Development Support, Information & Guidance • Group start up facilitation & capacity building – groups can avail of various support & training opportunities e.g. Committee Skills, Funding Applications, Community Development Workshops, etc. • Information - Mailouts & Website • Funding Advice & Information • Assistance with making Funding Applications - needs statements, statistics budget projections, etc. • Networking opportunities within Fermanagh and regionally • Support & training for group members • Facilitation of Consultations - opportunities for groups and members of the public to participate and respond to public consultations. • Advice on ACCESS NI Children & Vulnerable Adults Protection Guidelines and submission of ACCESS NI Disclosure Certificate applications • Equipment - Various items of equipment can be provided for use by member groups and online access to the internet for member groups activities can be provided • Promotion of Social Inclusion and Reconciliation • Promotion of Sustainable Rural Development • Dedicated Staff and Directors working actively with a number of local and regional partnerships to ensure representation of County Fermanagh’s Rural Communities

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Company shall be to relieve poverty and advance education for the benefit of the inhabitants of Fermanagh and its hinterland (hereinafter described as the ‘area of benefit’) without distinction of sex, race or political, religious or other opinions and in particular to promote any charitable activity which gives support to the local rural communities suffering disadvantage and poverty and which seeks to improve the conditions of life for the inhabitants of the area of benefit.
